Let me start out by saying that I HATE spending money of clothing. Don't get me wrong, I like shopping for clothing (as long as it doesn't take more than an hour), but when I see a pair of jeans priced at more than $20 I cringe and move on. I refuse to spend more than $10 or $15 on a shirt, and like to spend around $15 for a dress. Yup, I'm cheap. I'm also one of those people who varies between Junior size clothing and Misses. Usually I shop for casual clothing in the Junior's department, and if I need some fancy clothes I shop in the Miss(es) department. And I ALWAYS shop the clearance racks first.
I ran across a Junior's clothing store on Facebook called Moda Xpress. They describe their clothes as "Discount Trendy Juniors Clothing". Did I hear the word discount?! Oh my, yes I did! I took a gander at their online store, and let me just say the prices were incredible for brand new clothing. I contacted Moda Xpress because I truly believe I have readers who could benefit from hearing about this store, and they were super generous and let me choose any three pieces of clothing from their online inventory to review.
I'm not exactly a trendy mom, but I like to pretend that I am. I had to do a little digging, because some of the clothes were just not my style. It's not that I didn't like them, I just really can't pull off a tube top at this point in my life. Thank you Liam and Juniper for that. After a little more browsing and deciding I could really go for some summer clothes; I found a white tank top with a lace front, a pair of skinny jeans (I've NEVER owned a pair except for when they weren't in style), and a cute little dress.
One thing that really caught my eye as I was removing the tags, was that every single piece of clothing I had picked out were ALL made in America. I was truly impressed with this. I made sure to ask Moda Xpress if everything is made in America. Moda Xpress explained to me that while some of the clothes are not made in America, most of the jeans that are priced above $12.99, the vast majority of skirts, dresses, pants, and many of their tops are! This fact alone gets two thumbs up from me!
I thought the clothes were well made, especially for the price. The dress is lightweight and perfect for summer or paired with leggings, and the tank can be worn alone or spiffed up a little with a blazer or jewelry. The jeans are comfortable too! The ONLY thing I didn't care for about the jeans was the "bling" on the buttons, and the large silver tag sewn onto the back. I guess I'm just not cool enough to appreciate those little details. At least the shirts I wear are usually on the long side, and I can easily cover those two minute details. I'm usually wary about shopping online at a new place I haven't purchased from before because clothing sizes tend to vary a ridiculous amount. However, these fit true to size!
Total, the clothes I received to review would have cost about $46 to purchase. Yes, you read that right. An entire outfit AND a dress cost less than $50. And you know what, that was ranging on the more expensive end of things. I would suggest checking out the Moda Xpress site, and their Facebook page often because they have some great sales and they update their inventory regularly. For example today (02/25) I saw they are having a B2G1 FREE sale that included summer dresses, rompers, and some tops! You could get THREE dresses/shirts/rompers for $26!
Moda Xpress sells everything from casual to dressy, career wear to undies, accessories, and accommodates regular Junior sizes up through plus sizes. They even make it easier to shop by pre-assembling outfits and selling the pieces together.
Now, the final detail you were promised - Moda Xpress has generously provided a discount code for DealPeddler readers! Use code dealpeddler at checkout and receive 15% OFF all regularly priced items in your order. I realize some of you may not care to shop Juniors clothing, but I'm pretty sure many of you have daughters or granddaughters, so make sure you pass this site along as well as the discount code.
